Hello
I’m Caroline, a spirited country girl with a rebel heart, thriving as a story teller and communications entrepreneur in Indonesia.
I’m here to help you unravel the mysteries of communication and guide you in forging connections that are not just meaningful but transformative.
Born and raised in the West Country of England, I once dreamed of the dazzling lights of London and the magic of TV commercials.
Fast forward to now, and you'll find me in East Indonesia, among rice fields and coconut trees, living a life I never planned but fully embraced. My journey is a testament to the power of destiny and the courage to
follow it, guided by a few simple yet profound mantras:
Have the courage too blaze your own trail, even if it terrifies you.
Stay wildly curious — every discovery is a treasure.
Always be real — the world craves authentic souls.
Give generously, whenever the chance arises.
Wondering how I got, not literally, from the foothills of the Welsh mountains to the rugged landscape of Flores Island, East Indonesia? Let’s rewind for a moment...
The '80s – The Birth of a Maverick
Don’t let anyone dim your light
Growing up in the 70s and 80s was a magical time for me, carefree and pushing boundaries. As long as you didn’t break the law and weren’t harming anyone, pretty much anything was within limits and I was pushing them. Until one day everything came to grinding halt. Have you ever had that feeling every door and window is shut and you have no-where to turn? I assumed I’d sail through my exams and go to university, I’d revised after all. However, I miserably failed and the door to university was firmly shut, not even ajar. My confidence was kicked out of me and still, remains my limiting belief to this day, the fear of failure.
Coming from a military background I was curious about a career in uniform. Terrified of failing the entrance exam, I shook off the shame of academic failure and the discouraging prophecy from my headmistress, declaring me as the student "least likely to succeed." And, instead, I passed the exam and I carved my path in the Royal Navy, becoming a communications officer by twenty and a decorated member of the parachute team. My journey was not about conquering the globe but conquering my self-doubt and societal expectations, and it terrified me.
The '90s – A Quest for Identity
Never stop evolving
Post-navy life threw me into the realm of motherhood and self-reinvention. I had no idea what I was doing, why don’t they give you manual or something. They do now, there are hundreds websites and apps. But back in the early 90s there was nothing. In what felt like nano seconds I went from barely being able to take care of myself to a stay at home mom and wife. Again, it terrified me as I juggled diapers, saucepans and studying.
I battled the echoes of past criticisms, determined to prove my worth beyond conventional metrics, and as if learning to be a mum and wife wasn’t enough I would study for my business degree in the early hours of the morning. It wasn't just an education; it was a declaration of my unyielding spirit.
The 2000s – Embracing the Dream
It’s never too late to chase your dreams
As digital landscapes shifted, I stepped into the vibrant world of London’s advertising scene, rediscovering my love for the potent dance of words and ideas. I joined the work force again in my late twenties landing a junior role in a branding and communications agency. You can start your career at any stage, it’s never too late.
Yet, as the digital age advanced, I plunged into the digital fray, learning to navigate new technologies and lead cross-cultural teams in a digital ballet of strategy and innovation.
"You’re never too old to redefine yourself."
My career evolved from crafting ad campaigns to orchestrating global digital transformations, each step driven by a passion to make sense of chaos and connect through clarity.
A Decision That Changed Everything
In 2016, burnt out but undeterred, I made a leap of faith at 47, trading boardrooms for backpacking in New Zealand. What began as a sabbatical blossomed into an ongoing adventure in Indonesia, where my twin passions for nature and narrative continue to grow.
Today – A Mission of Empowerment
Since 2020, I’ve devoted myself to nurturing the next generation, teaching English to local children and empowering small businesses worldwide to find their voices and tell their stories.
My approach is not just about teaching but about awakening—a blend of rigorous technique and heartfelt connection.
My Approach:
My techniques, honed over years of living between worlds, emphasise the artful cadence of speech, the strategic power of words, and the transformative potential of authentic engagement. From elocution lessons as a child to decoding cultural nuances across continents, my method is about crafting a symphony of communication that resonates deeply and widely.
